Laura Burgoyne grew up exploring the hiking routes, camping spots, and cycling trails of Nelson. She’s an avid outdoor sports fan, playing soccer and volleyball in her school days before transitioning to competing in half-marathons and triathlons.
Laura graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor in Early Childhood Teaching in 2012, proceeding from there to teach at kindergartens in Christchurch and in the Bay of Islands.
Laura moved to Auckland in early 2015 with her husband Greg where she worked for The Parenting Place and a health food cafe, before joining the team at Venn in 2017. She is responsible for keeping the Venn office running smoothly and making sure internal events are effectively managed. Laura has also become known for regularly cycling to and from Cape Horn in training for an upcoming race.
She is passionate about health and wellness in all its forms, describing the kitchen as her creative outlet and a place to create beautiful, nourishing food for guests. She loves exploring the intersection of physical, emotional, and spiritual health, especially for young women in the Church.
Outside of Venn, Laura and Greg are the lead pastors at Central Church in Auckland, a role that keeps them both busy and inspired.
