Max Masters
Max Masters works as a school teacher and chaplain in Auckland, and is passionate about presenting the Christian faith in relevant ways to a distressed, yet spiritually hungry generation. He grew up in the quiet hills of a Manawatū farm and enjoyed all the thrills of an outdoor childhood. After coming to faith at 20, he felt called to pursue ministry and moved to Auckland to study theology and counselling at Laidlaw, graduating with a Bachelor of Counselling in 2020.
Max then jumped into the Venn Fellowship Programme from 2020-2021, and following this, began his Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Regent College in Canada, graduating in 2024. His concentration in Interdisciplinary Studies speaks to his particular interest in the intersection of faith and culture, particularly regarding the question of what it means to be human.
He is a lover of music and songwriting, enjoys reading, keeping active, and retreating to quiet places to hear afresh the words of life for himself and his world.
